I broke my heater

I like to try to fix everything at our house myself, and I don’t like having to pay for oil furnace repair, air conditioning repair, or appliance repairs when it’s something that I could do myself. I watch a lot of videos online, and I also call my dad for help periodically. A lot of times, he is able to walk me through oil furnace repairs right over the phone, he used to be an heating and cooling specialist so he really knows his stuff. I think I’m more knowledgeable about heater and a/c systems than the average person, just because I used to go out on heating and cooling installation calls with my dad back when I was a kid. But occasionally, his methods just don’t work, one day, my oil furnace went out and I couldn’t find a video to help me out. I called my dad and no matter what I tried, my dad and I just couldn’t get the darn oil furnace to fire back up again. I was frustrated at the oil furnace by this point and I believe I must have used the wrench on it with a little too much enthusiasm, to make a long story short, I ended up breaking the oil furnace up even worse than it would have been to start with. I hung up with my dad and had to call a HVAC technician out from the local heater and a/c repair company to come out and do the oil furnace repair work for me. I had to pay a small fortune for the oil furnace service work, so I’m hoping that next time I’ll be able to fix it myself or with Dad’s help.
