I could not truly understand why the Heating and A/C company always sends the newbies to weirdos? It was strange the way I got sent to this seasoned man’s condo who had a pool in his basement! I wondered if they got some kind of perverse joy out of seeing a current Heating and A/C worker squirm under pressure, but fortunately for me, I have a Grandpa who is eccentric.
He certainly doesn’t have a pool in his basement, but he runs around with shorts in the cold season, and wears blazers in the summer… My uncle’s condo looks sort of like it came right out of some kind of nightmare movie.
It was rundown, and he didn’t care. It was rather nice inside, but he said that’s where he resided… They didn’t live outside, so he didn’t care what people were thinking, however when they sent me to Grandpa’s condo to repair his furnace, I was glad to go. I didn’t tell them who he was. I got to have root beer with Grandpa and Grandma, and I got to show them what a skilled Heating and A/C worker I was. I could not wait for Grandpa’s approval of my being a Heating and A/C appliance worker. After I repaired the furnace and showed them the bill, Grandpa paid me in cash. I told him what all the people at the Heating and A/C appliance company thought of his dwelling, and he and Grandma laughed hysterically. They said that was an enjoyable thing, because now they would have their preferred granddaughter coming over more often. I kissed them both and made my way back to the Heating and A/C appliance company. No one asked what happened at the dwelling, and I didn’t really think it was their business.
