I am a junior in college and I am trying to save as much money as possible.
It is so hard to be in school full time and always have a job, but my parents aren’t helping with school so I have to make sure that I am making smart decisions when it comes to money.
To save money, I am currently living with five other girls. It is not always fun to live with this many people, but we really do save a ton of money each month on rent. Thankfully, I really like all the girls I live with but there is one thing we never agree on and that is what our thermostat should be set at. Half the house is always cold and the other half is always hot. It is a constant battle for the HVAC system and I know it is not good to switch from heating to cooling so often. I am nervous that we are going to break our HVAC system and our landlord is going to evict us if we aren’t careful. Last week two of my roommates really go into it after someone turned off the air conditioner after we all went to bed. We all woke up sweating and a couple of the girls were really mad about it. I really didn’t care too much, but it caused a lot of issue with the other girls. I think we are going to have to make a HVAC schedule so we can plan when to turn on the HVAC system and when to turn it off. I think this is the only way to keep everyone from fighting all the time.
