When our air conditioner broke last summer, I could not afford to get it fixed. Not only that, I could not afford to hire a professional to tell me what was wrong with it, i suppose a lot of people say COVID is not a threat anymore, even though I still felt worried without a working ventilation system in our house, since I was dead broke I went online, to start enjoying tutorial videos about our brand of system. I fell down a “rabbit hole” as the saying goes, and spent days enjoying hundreds of videos posted by certified heating and A/C experts. I did not become an expert, but in the matter of a week I learned more about heating and cooling than I ever had before. At a local junk yard I located the right category of portable cooling system to cannibalize for parts. It was not the same make or model as the cooling system I had at home, but it was made by the same company. In one of our videos I learned about the unique area of our cooling system that needed to be replaced. Instead of buying a new area for eighty bucks I purchased the broken cooling system for several dollars and took what I needed from it. Now our cooling system is working again, and it hardly cost me any money at all. I hope all air conditioner repairs are this cheap.
