When most folks get an air conditioning certification, they go to work for a company, not me, then on the way out here in the country there are no companies.
When farmers and ranchers want to build a new barn, or repair a fence, they do it themselves. I knew the need for my skills existed, there wasn’t a way to get paid for my job unless I went into business for myself, the last two years have been crazy, because I know heating and cooling systems even though I don’t know how to run a business, so it has been a learning experience for sure. Without the help of my spouse Bonnie I never would have been able to start. Bonnie knows nothing about air conditioning systems but she is a wiz with numbers plus accounting. With Bonnie in charge of the front office, I could focus honestly on handling repair calls and repairing gas furnaces plus cooling systems. The first few weeks existed honestly of me handing out my new air conditioning company cards to the locals, just to get the word out. I told all the people that if they ever needed work done on their heaters, AC units, or ventilation systems I would take care of them. It took a little while, however finally I started getting some calls, plus making a few air conditioning repair calls to local farms. Once people saw how good I was at my job, and how abruptly I could repair their heaters, the company started to pick up, and after one year I was doing great, and looking for a new air conditioning tech to help me.
