Last week, my dad tore up the furnace when he was trying to fix it.
He is always doing stuff like that and it drives my mom absolutely nuts.
She calls me to complain about it at least once a week, and I am honestly sick and tired of hearing about it. Usually when she calls, I’ll just put her on speakerphone and walk around doing other things. I don’t really listen while she rants and rails about my dad trying to fix the refrigerator or the air conditioning system or the garage door opener. It’s always something with those two. They fight all the time about one thing or another and sometimes I just can’t stand to hear about it. Last week, their old electric furnace stopped working and my dad couldn’t bear to call the HVAC company to have them come and fix it for them. He said that he didn’t want to have to pay for a furnace repair this soon after Christmas and I can’t say that I blame him. He was bound and determined to get the furnace fixed himself so that he wouldn’t have to pay a dime to the HVAC company. My dad is probably one of the cheapest people that you would ever meet! I don’t know how they ever make it through the holidays in my first place. My mom really loves to shop and so her idea of spending never matches up with my dad’s idea of spending. Last week when my dad tore up their furnace even worse than it was before, I thought my mom was just going to scream.
