Upon moving into our new house in the spring, one of the first things my wife wanted to do was plant flowers.
She wanted flowers wherever she could put them, but conveniently we had raised flowerbeds at our new home. We added a little more soil to the mix and she went crazy planting different sorts of wild flowers. I actually wondered if she planted too many seeds. There were so many flowers that came up so it seemed those seeds were quite viable. We even had a few sunflowers come up which I was surprised about. Still, so long as we watered the flowers at least every other day, those flowers stayed in great health and they grew so fast. My wife was out there watering the flowers most days in the summer months. Of course, she had to come back in the house for regular air conditioning breaks, but she had so much fun being outside with her flowers. She eventually started talking about growing other types of plants like tomatoes, peppers, and even watermelons. I ended up putting together a greenhouse with some buddies of mine as a surprise for her. The best part of the surprise is the fact that we installed a ductless mini split system to the greenhouse so she could adjust the climate control as needed. It actually was much easier than I imagined it would be to install the HVAC system. The greenhouse has quality glass that doesn’t allow the heating or air conditioning to escape. Now she is able to garden year round and she looks forward to her winter season gardening!
