I’m a very much live and let live sort of guy.
I don’t care who you love or what you’re politics are.
I try to treat everyone with respect and expect a modicum of respect to be returned. But that’s not always the case. I happen to have a neighbor who seems to just be waiting for me to come out of the central air conditioning of my home. Actually, I have wondered if he did look out the window and wait until he could ambush me on my way to the car. The guy isn’t the worst human being in the world but he’s also pretty arrogant and just has an ultimate need to be right. I can handle that for minutes at a time if I’m in my normal frame of mind. But the other day, my neighbor caught me in a mood and touched on a subject that I’m pretty passionate about. He decided to come over and tell me what an idiot I am for getting HVAC maintenance. I guess he saw the HVAC company van in my driveway doing the heating maintenance a few weeks back. I’m like clockwork when it comes to HVAC maintenance. I get the heating maintenance at around the same time each fall. And I follow that up with a air conditioning tune up at the same time each spring. So my neighbor decided he needed to share with me that this was stupid and a waste of money. And it just caught me wrong, frankly. I ended up really setting him straight about the value of HVAC maintenance. And then I kindly told him to keep his opinions about my heating and cooling to himself.
