Take it slowly

When going to get your certification to become a heating and air conditioning specialist, the best thing to do is to take it slowly.

  • What I mean by that is not to rush into signing up for HVAC classes at a college.

It is best to do some self teaching first and get familiar with the basics of heating and air conditioning if you are not already. This will help you be successful and pass the first time around. I knew someone once who ended up having to go to HVAC school and pay twice because they failed the first time. They were not prepared and not ready to go for it just yet was the issue. What many do not understand is that HVAC school is not like regular college. The courses in some cases only last 4 – 6 months and you are expected to learn all the basics in that time to be able to get your certification to go and work for yourself or a heating and air conditioning company. When I got my HVAC certification I was already aware of this and I prepared for a few months before I signed up and began my schooling to work in the heating and air conditioning field. I am writing this so future and upcoming heating and air conditioning specialists can get a little tip and be very successful in HVAC school the first time around. It will help your career greatly. Don’t rush it, take your time and you will be very glad that you did.
