This past Summer I went to quite a charming wedding. Two friends of my daughter were getting married and they had a charming ceremony inside a church near our household. The reception was held at a Charming building in one of the town parks. The rental cost for the building with the Charming Southern columns on the porch is minimal. As a matter of fact, I doubt the amount the town charges for rent is even enough to cover the cost for the a/c that people use. Well, the a/c that everyone uses. What I mean by that is there was a catastrophe on this particular wedding day. It was a catastrophe to the bride and her family, however the rest of us just went with the flow really. Anyway, let me explain… Every one of us showed up before the wedding to get the little household all set for the reception. The place is owned by the town and rent is so low, the catch is that you have to do everything yourself and they don’t have anyone on call to help with anything pressing. That includes having the a/c device not work. So anyway, I went along with various other people to set up the building and turn on the air-conditioning various hours before the wedding ceremony. Every one of us got everything done and we were perspiring because the AC device wasn’t working just yet. Every one of us thought nothing of that. But when we all arrived after the ceremony and discovered the temperature control equipment was reading in the 80s, we also discovered that the a/c device was broken. The best man just happens to be an HVAC corporation owner, and he got out his tool belt and saved the day. He honestly had that AC running great in no time. If I need our AC repaired, I am going to call him.
