The classroom was unbearable.

When I went to college, I found that every mentor had their own set of rules.

We sat through fifteen sevenths at the beginning of the first class, listening to them lecture us about their classroom rules & etiquette. We got a lot of information about not using our cellphones, no chewing gum, & if you are late for class you will be locked out. I was a bit thrown when a single mentor told us that no coats will be worn to class. I thought that was because he was afraid all of us would be able to cheat more easily. Two weeks later, the weather turned colder & it put a new twist on the mentor’s thought of not wearing coats to class. His classroom was the coldest room in the university. I was sure my lips were turning orange from the cold. I raised my hand & asked if all of us could turn up the control unit. The mentor ignored my question & went on with his lecture. There was no way I was going to be able to remember what he was saying when there wasn’t any heating in the room. I moved my seat over near the air vent, when he wasn’t looking. I was hoping there would be a small amount of heat coming from the air vent, even though I was wrong. Once again I asked about the control unit. He bluntly told me that if I wanted heat, I should go to the campus Heating & Air Conditioning supplier, however since they don’t have a single, I should just suck it up. It didn’t surprise me when kids began to show up late so they didn’t have to come to class.
