Over ten years ago, my mother-in-law passed away.
Her husband, who is not the father of my husband, was quite a wealthy man.
they lived directly on a Waterway in a house that would definitely sell for over a million dollars even back then. Anyway, after my mother-in-law passed, there was a funeral gathering at their home on the water. There were many people crammed into the house, and most people were visibly sweating. Her husband did not notice. He is the only one though. Finally I went to my husband and said hey what is with the air conditioning? Can you please go turn down the thermostat? He was one of the ones who was sweating like a pig, so off he went to adjust the thermostat. That is when he discovered that the thermostat was already set to 64°. Even so, the actual thermostat reading in the house was 79. Well, anyone who grows up in the Southeast like we all did, knows that means your air conditioner is broken. It just so happens this was a weekend day, as most funerals take place on Saturdays for the convenience of the attendees. My father-in-law did not even think it was hot there. He simply was not in his right mind. Anyway, the Gathering after the funeral was on the way towards a complete disaster and people were downright miserable with no AC to help them. That is when I decided to call my friend. I have a friend who works in Heating and Cooling oh, and he is always saying if I ever need anything to please let him know. Well that day he was able to come and very quietly go into the backyard, the attic, and the garage, to discover what was wrong with the air conditioning. It turns out there was some kind of freezing up of the AC fan. He did fix the air conditioning, and he did take a few extra minutes to comfort my father-in-law. He is a great friend and a great HVAC technician.
