We thought nothing of that
This past summer I went to quite a lovely wedding. Two friends of my daughter we’re getting married and they had a lovely ceremony inside a church near my house. The reception was held at a Charming building in one of the city parks. The rental cost for the building with the Charming Southern columns on the porch is minimal. In fact, I doubt the amount the city charges for rent is even enough to pay for the air conditioning that people use. Well, the air conditioning that most people use. What I mean by that is there was a catastrophe on this particular wedding day. It was a catastrophe to the bride and her family, but the rest of us just went with the flow really. Anyway, let me explain. We all showed up before the wedding to get the little house all set for the reception. Because the place is owned by the city and rent is so low, the catch is that you have to do everything yourself and they don’t have anyone on call to help with anything. That includes having the air conditioning not work. So anyway, I went along with several other people to set up the building and turn on the air-conditioning several hours before the wedding ceremony. We got everything done and we were sweating because the AC wasn’t really kicked in yet. We thought nothing of that. But when we all arrived after the ceremony and discovered the thermostat was reading in the 80s, we also discovered that the air conditioner was broken.the best man just happens to be an HVAC company owner, and he got out his tool belt and saved the day. He had that AC running like a top in no time. If I need my AC repaired, I am going to call him.
