There’s been a very strange and odd sound coming from my furnace.
It’s still been working just fine, so I haven’t been worried too much about the problem.
I decided to schedule a tune up on the furnace. When I did, I told the service technician about the strange sound so he could check it out. I thought it would take several hours for the service technician to find and eliminate the problem and provide a full service tune up on all of the electrical and mechanical parts. It actually took a lot less time than I expected. The service technician was friendly and knowledgeable. The young guy performed an evaluation first to determine the root of the sound that I had been hearing. The sound turned out to be a metal bracket that was loose. After I tightened the screw for the metal bracket, the noise completely disappeared. It was a simple 5-minute fix. The service tune up and repair only took about 90 minutes and I thought half of my day was going to be gone when I called to schedule the service and maintenance request. After the technician left, I still had time to go to the bank, grocery store, and the bargain outlet. When my partner got back from work later that day, he was also surprised by the fact that I had time to get all of the errands done. Both of us thought it was going to take most of the day to find and fix the problems with our furnace.
