During the Covid-19 pandemic, I had an whole-apartment air purifier installed in my home.
It was particularly a Christmas gift the year the pandemic started, then right before it was announced my buddy and I had to stay distanced, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C worker was at our home, & he was installing the all-dwelling whole-apartment air purifier.
We found out my buddy and I were going to have a baby, & I wanted the air to be perfect for him. It is now almost four years later, & the whole-apartment air purifier quit working. I called the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C contractor who sent someone to the house. He asked if my buddy and I had changed the air filter, & I said yes. He said the one in the whole-apartment air purifier was absolutely dirty. It couldn’t clean the air if it wasn’t clean. He said the one was perfect, but not the HEPA air filter. My spouse looked away. He said something about them being absolutely luxurious, however he said nothing more. I was aggravated, although I couldn’t say much. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C worker put a modern HEPA air filter in the machine, & then he changed the UV light. He said it should work, & I asked how my buddy and I would know. He pointed to the smoky haze in the room, & said it was already dissipating. The room was smelling fresher, & I felt better knowing the air cleaner was working again. When the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C worker left, my spouse apologized. He didn’t realize getting cheap HEPA air filters would make that much difference. He also only changed it once every three months, instead of daily.
