Renters can be odd ducks periodically.
I have had them move into my home, plus move back out in the middle of the night.
I’ve seen people come in with all their belongings plus walk out; leaving everything behind. The amazing thing is when someone moves out plus leaves the apartment looking better than when they move in. Believe me; that doesn’t happen absolutely often. The normal is when they move into a attractive cabin plus walk out leaving it look like it was ready to be condemned. I no longer rent to family members because they are the worst, last month, my cousin was living in one of my rental homes. She had been there for over two years. When she moved in, there were window air conditioner units in every room. The lease is absolutely clear that whatever is in the apartment when you move in, must be there when you move out. One afternoon, she called plus told me the cooling system in the family room was broken. I went to the apartment plus took the seasoned cooling system out plus updated it with a new one. I put the seasoned cooling system in the recycling center so it didn’t ended up in the landfill. When she moved out, she took the new air conditioner component with her. I asked her where it was, plus she told me I gave it to her plus she refused to move without their cooling system. I I walked into the apartment the day she moved, plus the cooling system was back. Then I realized it was the one from the recycling center. They took it out of the bin, plus put it back in the window, then took the new one with them.
