I honestly don’t understand why HVAC technicians are paid more money for the work that they do. I highly value the work that HVAC technicians do. I know some people that know how to fix their own HVAC units, so they never have to hire an HVAC technician to fix their furnace or their central air conditioner. However, I have no idea how to fix an HVAC unit, so if my HVAC unit stops working, I have to call an HVAC technician. If I didn’t have an HVAC technician to call, I would literally die. When the HVAC technicians come to my house, they charge a lot of money for the HVAC repairs. Just to show up at your house, the HVAC companies charge around $150-200 for their work. That doesn’t even include the price of labor to actually fix your HVAC unit. Sure, I do not like paying the high prices to get my HVAC units fixed, but I am willing to pay the HVAC technician for his hard work. However, I recently found out that HVAC technicians are actually paid less than the national average salary. If HVAC technicians are paid so little, then that must mean that all of the money that I am being charged for labor on my HVAC unit must actually be going directly to the owner of the HVAC company. I think that this is absolutely ridiculous. I highly value the labor of HVAC technicians, and I think that they should be paid more. I do not think that the solution is charging more for HVAC repairs. I think that the solution is for the HVAC company to pay fair prices.
