When it comes to using different kinds of air filters I have tried almost every kind there is available.
I’ve used HEPA filters, I’ve used UV light filters, I’ve used washable air filters and I’ve used disposable air filters and I still prefer disposable air filters over all of them, with the exception maybe being with a HEPA filter and that’s just because HEPA filters are excellent and giving you great indoor air quality.
I don’t care for UV light filters because you constantly have to make sure that your bulb hasn’t burned out otherwise it’s going to be completely ineffective. I don’t care for washable air filters because while they’re great and they work very well, I don’t like to go through the hassle of having to wash my air filters, or even just vacuum them out. I’ll admit I guess this is just me being a little bit lazy but I would rather buy a cheaper disposable air filter that’s going to cost me less money, and that is already ready to go, in the room about having to clean and reuse another one. The disposable air filters come pre packaged and ready. All I have to do is open them up and place them in there and my heating and AC system is taken care of. It requires minimal effort on my part and that is how I like it. The only exception like I said before would be the HEPA filters and that is because HEPA filters do work really well and if you have bad indoor air quality they really are the best solution in my opinion. However I still prefer disposable air filters overall just because they’re cheaper than HEPA filters, although if I do have bad indoor air quality then I will turn to a HEPA filter if I need one.
