I didn’t call the HVAC technician.

I glanced over at the driveway when I was putting my daughter on the bus, and saw an HVAC service van pulling into my driveway.

I hadn’t called the HVAC company, and I wasn’t expecting anyone, but I knew the neighbor had been.

Thinking he had pulled into my driveway instead of the neighbor’s, I put Shelia on the bus, and went back into the house. Five minutes later, my doorbell was ringing. The HVAC technician apologized for being late, and said he was there to look at the furnace. After excusing myself for a moment, I picked up the phone to see if my husband had called the HVAC technician? He said he hadn’t called the HVAC technician. When I got back into the living room, he said he checked the address on the work order, and it was ours. He gave me the name on the work order, but it wasn’t ours. I didn’t know the name of the people. He went out on the porch to make a phone call to the HVAC company. When he came back in, he looked as confused as I felt. He told me this was definitely the address, but the name was wrong. We had only moved in earlier in the summer, and I wondered if they had the right name, but wrong address. I called our realtor and asked who lived here before us. Apparently, the people who called were the ones who used to live here. When they called, they gave their old address and not their new one. He called the phone number, and I could hear the woman apologizing and giving him her new address.
