Air Quality And Asthma Are Linked

There is no question that in many areas asthma is becoming more and more prevalent.

Why this is, is due to many factors of course, and it is best to not try to create a simple narrative for complex developments. But this does not mean that it is wrong to say that air quality has a lot to do with the development of asthma in a person. Indeed, children who live near some industrial plants with smokestacks billowing a variety of chemicals often have without a doubt a higher instance of asthma compared to a similar population of children who are not near such things. But what is a parent to do if they do live near a potential source of asthma-inducing pathogens. The answer is both not much and alot, at the same time. Not much because you cannot control the outside air, but a lot because while the child is in your house, a focus on providing superior air quality can pay huge dividends for a child’s health. This includes ensuring clean ductwork for HVAC systems, perhaps a whole home air purification system. A HEPA filter is also a great bit of technology that really cleans the air. Beyond HVAC concerns, it is also important to make sure the house and all the surfaces in it are clean and free of pathogens and germs. Regular vacuuming of the house is very important too. A varied and healthy diet cannot be underestimated too, especially if the family does live in a place with potentially dangerous air outside. In short there is a lot a parent can do to try and prevent asthma from happening.
