To say I’m not tech savvy is probably the understatement of the week.
I rely on my lovely wife for all things tech.
She is a decade younger than I am and far more intelligent when it comes to technology. It’s great for me since she can explain it to me in a way that my feeble mind can understand it. My wife had one of the very first smart phones. I was of course still hanging on to the landline in our nicely HVAC controlled home. But in my defense, there was just too much tech all at once for me to get onboard. 15 years later and I have made some important strides. I may not be tech savvy but, I’m at least plugged in. This even goes for the HVAC inside our home. I really even surprised my wife on this one. The HVAC had just been running too much and costing us a fortune. I turned to tech for a savings solution. I couldn’t program the thermostat and neither of us was consistent about pushing the HVAC setting up as we left for work. So, I decided to try out the smart HVAC thermostat. These had been around and I had heard nothing but good stuff about this HVAC technology. But, I was unprepared for just how amazing this thing was. The HVAC tech who installed it told me to virtually leave it alone so it could learn our habits. Essentially, that is exactly what I did. The first month, I saw a 10 percent utility savings. The second, it was up to a 15 percent HVAC cost savings. Now that’s the kind of tech I can really get onboard with.
