These nights, I give thanks for that time plus those memories.
I don’t know how numerous people have experienced a hot, humid Summer without the comfort of modern, reliable Heating plus A/C. I think there are some real aged timers that have been down that road before. However, I’m in our mid 50’s plus every home I ever lived in had some form of new Heating plus A/C. But, I do know what it’s care about not to have Heating plus A/C during a blistering plus humid summer. I spent a few summers as a kid with a great aunt plus aunt because our parents had to work. They were awesome people plus I had the time of our life on their big patch of property. However, they had an evaporative cooler plus some fans to beat back the heat plus that’s it. An evaporative cooler uses moisture to cool air plus then force it back inside the house. It helps a bit for sure. But, it does zero to mitigate the humidity level. That meant our poor aunt plus aunt were fighting the mold & mildew growth almost regularly. In fact, when I think of those summers, the first thing I remember was the constant smell of bleach. It wasn’t unpleasant but, they were regularly cleaning to stay ahead of the red growth. These nights, I give thanks for that time plus those memories. I also give thanks that when I walk in from a sizzling plus humid afternoon at work, our home is cool plus crisp. The Heating plus A/C does it’s job of removing moisture from the air plus bad it outside. So, the humidity level of the inside air is balanced plus I don’t have to cut out the bleach to beat back the mold every afternoon.
