While we were on vacation, our rental home had a wonderful ductless mini-split air conditioner.
My wife and I had never seen this type of heating and cooling system before, so the two of us weren’t even sure how it worked when we arrived at the rental house! We figured this place would have a thermostat just like ours at home.
But that wasn’t the case at all. When we arrived at the rental house, the two of us noticed that it was warm and humid inside. The weather was heating up outside that day, and the two of us were truly looking forward to getting into the home and turning the air conditioning on full blast! Imagine our surprise when we went into the home. Neither of us could find a temperature control unit anywhere, throughout the house! We looked and looked for a temperature control, and the two of us couldn’t find one. Just before I started to call the rental property manager, my wife noticed that there was an odd box on the wall that looked like it might have air vents on the top of it. We determined that this was a ductless mini-split heating and cooling system! This was the HVAC system for the whole house, which had an open floor plan, so the ductless mini-split worked well throughout it. The HVAC system had a remote control with it, too, so it was easy to control from anywhere in the room! We loved it, and thought the rental unit was great.
