When I bought my first car, I could not believe my dream had finally come true, it was an excellent model, had low mileage since it was second hand and drove well, my dad told me it was not enough to buy a car and I had to make sure it was frequently tested, dad had a point.
I was too naive to get it at the time. The date for servicing my automobile came and went without going to see the mechanic, when I got stranded on the side of the road due to overheating, I had to spend money extra for the recovery team to come and get me. The same thing happened to me when I bought my first home. I had forgotten that experience with the car. My house was new and required a central cooling and heating unit. I got an AC plan that a team of heating and A/C experts came to set up. The process took a lot of time due to some faulty ductwork that had to be fixed, as they worked, we talked a bit about AC service. The experts insisted I get an AC service idea which I promised to get but never did. One summer, I had an issue with my AC that cost me a lot of money to fix. Had I listened to the HVAC experts, I would have spared myself the headache of paying almost triple to have the plan working again. I was no longer going to waste time and I got a heating and A/C service soon after to save me from any grief in the future.
