When my wife and I moved out to the West, I found a nice home with a fireplace and a nice central A/C system.
There was no heating system other than the fireplace and my wife was not very happy about that.
When she asked how we were going to keep warm in the winter, I told her the winters were super mild around these parts and it would never be that chilly. I said it would probably be 60 degrees at the lowest temperature and even that was rare in this area. She said she still wanted some kind of heating system just in case it was too chilly, so we started looking into our options. The HVAC professional even said we would likely be fine with a couple of portable area heating systems, but my wife insisted on getting radiant heated floors. The HVAC professional seemed surprised but said they could handle those types of installations. He was saying how a lot of people actually go for the radiant heated floors because they can’t stand it when the tiles on the floor are cold, especially in the bathroom. So we went for this radiant heated flooring installation, and it honestly wasn’t so bad. Even when we are not using much heating, it makes the house so cozy and comfortable. The radiant heated floors are so much better than I expected and everybody enjoys spending time at our house. I swear we have parties just about every weekend and the people around here are great, most of them help clean up afterwards.
