I remember back in high school, I was a bit of a problem child to the teachers and the Principal.
I was a bit of a hacker so I was able to unlock all the features on the computers in our computer class and with my smartphone, I was able to hack the new smart thermostats they had installed in the school. They had HVAC zone control so I was able to crank up the A/C in every single classroom. When the Principal learned that I was the one hacking the smart thermostats, I got into a great deal of trouble. I was actually suspended from school for a certain period of time. When I finally got back, my buddies were telling me that the temperature control settings were out of control in the school and they wanted me to adjust the temperature control settings once more. Because I was at risk of being expelled from the school, I decided to just focus on my studies and deal with the awful temperature control settings in the classrooms. I don’t know if they were trying to save money on the energy bills or what, but it was entirely uncomfortable in the school. I honestly think even most the teachers appreciated it when I used to hack the smart thermostats because I actually made the classrooms more comfortable for everybody. I feel that the reason why I got in trouble was because I was actually increasing the energy bills in the school, and costly things like that causes people to be angry.
