I just love this time of year.
Not only is the HVAC cooling over but we are into some of the best weather of the year.
Plus, we just love doing the holidays in our home. I really enjoy watching my family just go nuts during the holiday season while I relax in the central air conditioning. My wife has just been so crazy when it comes to Christmas and that started the moment I met her in college. Once Halloween is done, I get to bring down all the holiday stuff from the attic. There are all sorts of things for the holidays that are packed away each year. This was also my job when I was a kid. But that was a whole production involving everything from bedspreads to plates and dishes. We lived in a cozy house back then with great HVAC that kept us warm all through the winter. I’m sure glad that we get to enjoy a mild winter these days. My wife really is deeply into holiday candles. There are candles burning all over the house. It does create a beautiful, cozy ambience for the holiday season. Through the years, the candles have become more and more of a presence in our house. But there is a cause and effect to all these candles as well. Having all these candles burning means there are all kinds of burnt wax going straight to the HVAC return. And that’s where it ends up covering the HVAC air filter. So once Thanksgiving week gets here, I make sure I have a whole case of air filters. During the holiday candle season, I change the HVAC air filter almost weekly.
