Keep those HVAC air filters on hand during the holidays

It’s pretty cool that my wife and daughters make such a fuss when the holiday period rolls around.

I am unfortunately the only one who isn’t just wild about this time of year.

To me, it’s that time when the HVAC costs a fortune to run. I do help to do my part with the boxes of ornaments that have to come down from the attic. Then, I also follow the blue prints given to me for the outside lighting. But, each year there are so many new additions for Christmas. Our middle daughter will hunt down Christmas decorations throughout the entire year. It’s pretty much up to the girls what the new decorations will be from year to year. I tend to watch from the comfort of the HVAC and stay out of the way. Yet when the candles come out, I know that my HVAC chores have just stepped up. My wife adorns the house with so many candles, I simply lose count. They are on just about every flat surface that will hold a candle. This is my cue to get a case of HVAC air filters. That may seem like a strange reaction to lots of burning candles. However, all that burnt wax has to end up somewhere. Namely, it ends up slicking over the HVAC air filter. I found this out the hard way. Fortunately, I caught it before it did real harm to my HVAC system. As soon as the turkey goes in the fridge, I am ready to change out the HVAC air filter at any point I need to.
