The stars aligned and we were given one of the biggest breaks of our lives.
An old house that we had admired from afar actually fell right into our laps.
It just all came together. From price to timing, it was simply meant to be. But, we certainly had our work cut out for us. That old house was far from our home because it was just about unlivable in the condition we bought it in. The HVAC didn’t work, the appliance were ancient and the flooring was abysmal. The house had set for decades mostly empty prior to it being sold. It was a well designed house and we were eager to make it livable once again. The first thing we had to do was figure out the HVAC renovation. There was sort of a hodge podge of window air conditioners, space heaters and a very limited HVAC situation. Running ductwork was problematic given the structural design. That left a central air unit as mostly unworkable. However, we were turned on to ductless heating & cooling units. I was so impressed by the power and efficiency of these heating & cooling units. We ended up installing a series of the ductless units in our home. It was just the thing we needed. From there, it has been a steady pace of restoring this house. But, we started with the base of great HVAC. And the other great thing about the ductless HVAC is the fact that we can customize the heating & cooling instead of having to do the whole house. I love this HVAC method.
