My parents were never abusive per se, however I think that depends on your definition of abuse.
- They never got physically violent with us and both of us never got spanked, but they didn’t give satisfactory temperature control settings in the boiling season, however both of us would always be boiling and they would say to just use a stationary fan instead of using the cooling system.
Both of us even tried to use the cooling plan a few times, but us teenagers got into some drastic trouble for that. Both of us didn’t get spanked or anything, but both of us were grounded for a long while, with no a/c of course. I mean at least both of us didn’t freeze in the winter, so I can’t truly complain about the use of the oil furnace. But still, I felt it was not absolutely nice for our parents to not give even a little amount of cooling, regardless of how luxurious they thought the energy bills were going to be. I swear I would have worked a area time task just to help them cover the cost for the bills just so both of us could have cooling in the house! As soon as I got out and rented my own apartment, I was blasting the cooling system plan all the time. I didn’t truly care that it was a little bit luxurious, I felt so much better when I had familiar cooling in my home. I even had my siblings over at my apartment a lot of the time before they were able to transfer out as well. Both of us all agreed that nothing was better than being able to love the cooling system.
