When I opened up my own company, one of the best pieces of advice I got was to invest in a roofing maintenance plan.
I have to admit, roofing was not high on my list of importance when I first opened my doors.
That all changed a year later when the roof started leaking and the ceiling collapsed overnight. A great deal of my merchandise was completely destroyed. Of course I called up a commercial roofing company and they were able to replace my entire roof with modified bitumen roofing. They explained that the roof had an insurance plan that came along with it as well as a roofing maintenance plan. In other words, they would come out every year, do any stealing that needed to be done, and generally make sure that my roof was in good condition. This roofing maintenance plan was good for 10 years. It’s funny how fast 10 years go by. I’m happy to say that my company has grown a lot in that time. But wouldn’t you know it, as soon as the maintenance plan expired, I had another roof leak. That’s when I found out that I could pay for a roofing maintenance plan where the same company would come out and maintain my roof every year. It isn’t all that expensive either. I’m happy that I can get this maintenance plan without having to have an entirely new roof put on my business. After all, I don’t need an entirely new roof. I just need to keep my existing roof in good condition for a few more years, anyway.
