What should you do when you have a sluggish fan

AC fans are expected to work at a certain speed for them to be effective.

When you slow down or hasten the pace, there is a reason for you to be concerned.

Note that your air conditioning unit has two fans. One is located at the condenser unit, and the other is in the air handler. Both of these fans have an equal role to play in ensuring your air conditioning goals are attained. Each time the furnace seems to be running slower than expected, you should check out the following issues. Three components are often the most significant reasons behind such changes. The first could be as a result of motor issues. Each of the fans has a motor that controls its movement. Any fault in this system will affect its efficiency. Whenever a motor breaks down, consider the wiring and powering system as this could be the main issue. Note that the fan will not move if there is a bad wiring problem. Fan belts can also cause problems when they are cracked, broken, or overstretched. There is normal wear and tear that could occur, but the moment this is overdone, you need to replace it since the belt cannot be repaired. You need the services of a competent HVAC technician for this. A malfunctioning capacitor can also trigger failures with your AC fans. Whenever a capacitor malfunctions, it slows down the fan motor, causing it to overheat or slow down. Once the AC specialist determines that this is the problem, focus on replacing the capacitor urgently lest the fan fails to go back to normal.
