I toil as a piano player for hire.
I mostly get gigs in small little dive bars, which is superb with me.
It pays the bills. But one thing I am pretty identifiable on is the air quality in where I perform. If I get a job that is a smoke filled bar, I will turn it down flat out. Even if I have not had toil in a while and am nearly starving. I would rather starve that have to perform in awful air quality! Most bars have outlawed smoking and do not allow it, however there are a few that still do allow it. And those I will not toil no matter how much you pay me. In order for me to perform well, I need to have the most lovely air quality. I can deal with not perfect air quality if needed and struggle through, however flat out awful air quality from a site filled with cigarette smoke I can not deal with, however funny enough I used to be a smoker, so you would suppose that I could handle it. But that is not the case. After I quit smoking I really ended up buying a whole beach apartment air purification system for our beach apartment to scrub out the awful air quality that was still lingering around from the smoke on our clothes, etc. That whole beach apartment air purification system sure did the trick. A lot of these bars should invest in whole beach apartment air purification systems or something love it for commercial buildings.
