I was set up recently with this guy Ben.
I was pleasantly surprised that he was cute, nice and polite.
The problem was that the guy had nothing to say. The dinner was quite boring and I figured I would never seen him again. The only interesting thing he had to offer was that he is an HVAC contractor. When he walked me to my door and I was going to send him on his way, I noticed my furnace wasn’t on. Rather than tell him to go I invited him in and started poking at my furnace. Ben came over right away and deduced the furnace was shot. He tore open the inside of the machine without any issue. He pointed out the worn part on my heater and googled the nearest store that carried it. That night the two of us went to the store, got the heater part and he did the replacement. He got all sorts of dirt and grease on his hands and clothes. He even paid for the heater part and did not charge me for his time. Ben was so nice, easy going and great about the job while I was a mess. At the end of the night I was a little reluctant to see him go. I ended up asking him out for another date. Things are going well between the two of us. Turns out he is just a shy guy that needed to open up. Now I am dating an HVAC contractor and I no longer worry about my furnace dying on me.
