Periodically I feel I would be better off living on some tropical island where the light never sets, during these moments of dreaming, I’m normally shuffling endless snow out of our driveway.
- If I did not do this every morning, how else would I get to work? My partner wolves laugh at me as I mumble a few profanities now and then.
I love living in the north, but the winter season is brutal. A few winter seasons ago, I was busy getting ready for snow shuffling when my partner rushed out of the home with some news. It seemed there was something wrong with the heating component because it was making a gurgling noise, which was new to me because I had never heard the heating component make such a sound before. I had to stop what I was doing to inspect the situation. If the AC failed, my partner would not be able to work comfortably at home. Therefore, I had to cancel the drive and call a heat pump expert to the house. It took numerous hours for the expert to find his way to our home, and he heard the gurgling noise as soon as he approached the heat pump, so he switched it off. It was a clear indicator that the component required a coolant recharge. I had no clue what that meant, and so I got out of his way. It was pointless to try and work because I was unsure how long it would take to repair the faulty furnace, and so, instead, I snuck into my partner’s home office when she was not looking and began doing some work.
