I was never very good at changing the HVAC air filter.
There isn’t a great or single reason I can really point to for this.
Perhaps it was just that I could never remember when it was time to change the air filter. But that has all changed now. Due to the pandemic, I learned just how important quality indoor air is to our health. Being a person who would be greatly at risk if they caught this virus, I did a bunch of research on how to strengthen my immune response. This is where I learned that the HVAC unit in my house can help me when it comes to my immune health. And really, it’s not just the immune health but good health overall. I thought that the cheap air filters that I used were actually filtering the air for me. But those cheap, paper air filters are really filtering the air for the benefit of the HVAC equipment. The cheap air filters only filter out airborne particles that are big enough to hurt the HVAC equipment. To have the HVAC help improve the indoor air quality, I had to upgrade my air filters. Now I use a HEPA filter to do just that. The HEPA filter traps and removes more than 99 percent of hazardous airborne contaminants. That means there is far, far less in the air that is constantly attacking our respiratory system. In turn, this allows our immune system to have to work less and be able to get stronger. Quality indoor air, healthy air is worth a few dollars more for the HEPA air filter.
