This week I had to take my daughter to the doctor’s office to get a check up.
She had been feeling ill for a couple of days and she was still having to stay home from school to avoid getting all of her classmates sick.
After arriving at the doctors and getting some information from him we were shocked to learn that the doctor was pretty sure the reason our daughter was sick was because she had continued to run her air conditioning unit in her room while she slept at night. Despite the fact that we live in a very chilly state that is in the middle of a cold streak, my partner and I were under the impression that she would be fine with the unit running and due to the fact that she had slept with one in her room her entire life we really weren’t worried. Well, the doctor must have been an HVAC repair tech in her past life because she seemed to know all that there was to know about air conditioning systems that run in the winter months and how dangerous they can be when the extremely cold air is combined with the air contaminants that were entering the room was only hurting her health, not helping it. Well, now that we were able to learn about the problems that can come with the A/C running in our daughter’s room, we will be certain not to make the same mistake again.
