At first, I thought there was simply a problem with the one room. When we moved into this house, I noticed pretty quickly that there was a room that was quite a bit cooler than the rest of the house. This came to my attention because initially, it was going to be my oldest daughter’s room. We moved up here in the fall and I thought maybe she didn’t like the room because he was still getting used to HVAC heating. Where we moved from, the winters were very mild and the heat pump rarely even had to cycle on to warm the house. But when she moved to another room, I kept going in that room and it definitely was colder than the rest of the house. Part of the home sale was having new HVAC equipment installed. This was a big deal to me because I knew absolutely nothing about a gas furnace. So I wondered if something might be wrong and I called the HVAC company. The HVAC technician went over every inch of our HVAC unit and found nothing wrong at all. He then walked our home looking at the ductwork layout. The HVAC professional told me the problem was that the room in question wasn’t getting the proper HVAC ventilation because it was added later. However, he also told me about an easy fix. The HVAC technician showed me online where I could buy room to room ventilators. They are small fans that go inside of adjoining walls. They then push or pull the HVAC treated air in order to balance the heating and cooling.
