After almost 40 years of marriage, this was normal when he knew he was wrong.
After working on the window air conditioning unit in the living room for two hours, I thought my husband was finally giving up. He disappeared into the basement, where he does always little projects. An hour later, he told me he had been on YouTube trying to figure out how to clean the air filter in our new air conditioning unit. I went back to my filing cabinet and found all the paperwork for the air conditioning unit that included schematics and Q&A’s. In the Q&A section, there was a diagram that showed exactly how to remove the front to the air conditioning unit and clean the inside, including the air filter. He asked me why I hadn’t pulled that out three hours ago, and I told him it was because he didn’t tell me what he was doing. Had he let me know he was going to clean the air filter and the dust from the inside of the AC unit, I would’ve got the papers long ago. As usual, he threw his hands up near walked away from me. After almost 40 years of marriage, this was normal when he knew he was wrong. It took another two hours for two clean the inside of the AC unit, and to scrub the air filter. Once he finished his job, I helped him put the air conditioning unit in the window. I had to admit that the air coming from the AC unit was much fresher and it smelled fantastic from whatever he used to clean the inside. It was also nice to hear that he thinks we make a good team when we work together.
