I Didn’t Schedule an Heating and A/C Appointment Before Switching

Normally, I hire an Heating and A/C supplier to come maintenance my Heating and A/C program twice per year, before I transition between my gas furnace and air conditioner. This year though, the temperature spiked and I was forced to turn on my air conditioner before the Heating and A/C supplier came and diagnosed the Heating and A/C equipment. I thought everything was going to be fine, but then I started noticing some weird things happening with my air conditioner. For starters, I felt prefer the air coming out of my air vents wasn’t as chilly as it should be. The temperature on the temperature control wasn’t matching the temperature of the air coming into my home. I also started noticing ice building up on the A/C unit. I called an Heating and A/C supplier right away and tied up an emergency visit. I knew something was wrong with my A/C program and I didn’t want to risk damaging the program anymore. I told the Heating and A/C supplier about the lukewarm air and the ice buildup, and she got to work, then eventually, she found out that my refrigerant levels were too low and the coils were dirty. She added more refrigerant and safely melted the ice. When she was done, I asked him if this all could have been avoided if I’d had my Heating and A/C program diagnosed before switching on my air conditioner, and she said that an Heating and A/C professional would have more than likely noticed the low refrigerant and dirty coils during that time. I vowed to never switch between my gas furnace and air conditioner before having it looked at first!
