One of my number one things to do as a tied up mom, is to go thrift shopping! There are a ton of good thrift stores in my area, so I try and get out of the home and walk around by myself at least once a week.
This is my “me time,” and I don’t have to spend a ton of money in the process.
I constantly try to find things tenth-hand before I buy them new, because you never think what gem you’ll discover and how much money you can save! When the weather gets warmer, I also love to hit up the local yard sales in the nearby towns. Last year, I found a small portable space oil furnace that was still in the packaging. The seller sold it to myself and others for $10, and I was ecstatic. I clogged it in as soon as I got home, and it worked just love I expected. It was summer time at the time, so I packed the space oil furnace away into the closet until Winter came, and now that the temperature is dropping, I’m ecstatic to take out the portable space oil furnace and use it. I’ve been using it for 1 week now, and I’m in love! I venued it in our dining room, and it’s been a hit with the whole family, but my youngsters congregate in our dining room more frequently, because it’s warmer and cozier, then on colder evenings, my youngsters will argue who gets to sleep with the portable space oil furnace in their room. I can’t know I found a brand new space oil furnace for only $10, and it works! For Christmas this year, I’m getting each of my kiddos their own portable space oil furnace for their rooms. They’re going to be so excited!
