Last week, we had a preview of the summer that is still to come.
- One day, it was a comfortable 72°, and the next two days, the temperature soared into the 90s.
It was so hot and uncomfortable in my workroom that I was getting very little done. My mind was wandering, and I felt like my entire body was dehydrating. After two hours, I pulled out the small window air conditioning unit that I had, and put it in the window. The cool air from the air conditioning unit made it so much more comfortable to work. An hour later, my husband came in and heard the air conditioning unit running. As hot as it was in that room; I couldn’t wait for him to decide it was time to clean the air filter. I told him that the h, eat wave was only going to last for two days, and then I would help take the air conditioning unit out of the window and he could work on it, but he wasn’t happy with that thought. He immediately pulled up the window and started to remove the air conditioning unit. For the first time in almost 5 years, I raised my voice to my husband. I told him that if he took that air conditioning unit out of the window, he would be cooking his own meals for the next year. The air conditioner would not be injured by running for two days with a dirty air filter. He didn’t talk to me the rest of the day, but at least I had an afternoon where I could work with no interruptions.
