Sometimes you just have to learn things the hard way in life.
It seems like around every corner, there’s always going to be somebody who is trying to take advantage of people.
Well, when I was having severe issues with the HVAC system, I decided to look online to find a good HVAC professional to do the work needed for cheap. The guy I ended up going with claimed to be an HVAC professional, but he was rather sketchy. He ended up working on the HVAC for a few hours, and when he was done, the HVAC wasn’t working any better than it was working previously. I asked him what he was doing for all that time if the HVAC wasn’t working any better. He told me straight up that he did the work and I owed him the money he was asking for the job. When I refused to pay him a dime until he had the HVAC working, he threatened me. I started recording what he was saying for legal reasons. When he said that he would let all the HVAC companies know that I let a non-professional work on the HVAC system, I had him on recording saying this. He admitted he was not an HVAC professional and he said my warranty was going to be officially void. I couldn’t believe it, but he basically implicated himself in a crime. So I ended up suing him for false advertising and doing work on my HVAC knowing that he was not an official HVAC professional. I got a good amount of money from the lawsuit and I was able to buy a brand new HVAC system!
