My furnace quit, so I used candles to heat my house.
It may sound crazy, but it actually sort of worked. The candles were definitely not a good replacement for my furnace, but they kept my house from freezing which was really nice. I actually make homemade candles for a living, so I had a ton of candles to burn to keep my house warm. I think I had about twenty-five candles burning at once in my house. It was pretty cool, but it was definitely a fire hazard. I love my house so much, but my furnace is such a pest. My furnace will work sometimes, and other times, it just doesn’t work. I need a new furnace, but I can’t really afford a new furnace. I was given this house for free, so I don’t want to sell it, but because of the furnace issues as well as a few other major issues, I may have to sell the house. I am glad that I did have candles this time. The last time that my furnace quit, my candles were all in a shed at my friend’s house. This time, the candles were all at my house, so I was able to light about twenty-five of them to keep my house above freezing. The candles were able to keep my house at about forty-five degrees. That was pretty good considering it was probably only ten degrees outside. I won’t be replacing my furnace with candles anytime soon, but it sure is nice to have candles when your furnace decides to quit.
