I made the mistake of buying a house without realizing that the heating system that came with the house was in genuinely bad condition.
I thought for sure that I had asked about the heater, but obviously, I had not asked about it.
I had looked at so numerous houses, and I had truly had a few of my offers accepted for other houses, so by the time that I found the house that I am in now and purchased it, I was absolutely not as careful as I should have been. I did not ask all the questions that I should have asked, and I did not see all of the concerns that the house had. I wish that I would have been more careful, but it is too late now. The heating system in the house died about two months after I moved into the house, then my neighbors told me that the previous owners of the house had told them about the concerns with the heating system months and months before. I suppose the previous owners may have mentioned it to me, but I obviously did not hear them. I blame myself, but I was still left without a heater. I could not afford to buy a new heater, so I purchased a propane heating system instead. It was only a couple hundred dollars for the whole set up. It kept most of my house comfortable, but the living room and my bedroom, which is right off of the living room, were quite freezing. I decided a few weeks ago to buy a second propane heating system for that side of the house. I cannot even explain how much of a difference that the second heating system has made. My house is so much warmer, and I am affectionate it.
