My dad and I once did all sorts of projects around the house together.
- Well, to be more precise, dad did a lot of projects around the house that I ended up helping with.
I loved following dad around and being his right hand man when it came to those household endeavors. Working together inside the HVAC comfort of home was enjoyable. And I did this for a long, long time. But the last several years, once I graduated college, I’ve lived a ways from my folks so we didn’t get to do that stuff as much. But due to the pandemic, my dad and I were able to finally tackle the white whale of all those projects. I lost my first career type job almost as soon as the pandemic started and I wasn’t called back to work. That meant I had to give up my apartment with its rather weak heating and cooling. It was tough to take not being able to live on my own having just lost a job in my field. But mom and dad made that much easier on my by welcoming me to live with them until I was able to get a new job. And there house has great heating and cooling. This was how my dad and I were able to finally tackle converting the basement into a very nice apartment. The crowning achievement there was installing a ductless multi split heating and cooling unit down there. He and I finally got the basement done and I was even able to live in it for a while before I found another job. I have to say that basement apartment had the best quality heating and air of any place I have rented thus far.
