Sometimes I think I would be better off living on some tropical island where the light never sets.
During these moments of dreaming, I’m normally shuffling endless snow out of my driveway.
If I did not do this every morning, how else would I get to work? My partner wolves laugh at me as I mumble a few profanities now and then. I like living in the north, but winter time is brutal! A few winters ago, I was scheduled to get ready for snow shuffling when my partner rushed out of the house with some news. It seemed there was something wrong with the heating device because it was making a gurgling noise. That was new to me because I had never heard the heating device make such a sound before. I had to stop what I was doing to inspect the situation. If the AC failed, my partner would not be able to work comfortably at home. Therefore, I had to cancel the drive and call a heat pump expert to the house. It took 2 hours for the expert to find her way to our home, but she heard the gurgling noise as soon as she approached the heat pump, so she switched it off. It was a clear indicator that the component required a coolant recharge. I had no clue what that meant, and so I got out of her way. It was pointless to try and work because I was unsure how long it would take to service the faulty heating system, so, instead, I snuck into my partner’s office when she was not looking and began doing some work.
