I have been a professor for about 10 years now, plus while I like our job, it does come with its share of challenges.
Some afternoons are better than others, plus I have grown to accomprehension the enjoyable afternoons plus be grateful for them.
There are afternoons when you have that a single kid who refuses to listen to what you have to say, plus you end up having to deal with removing them from the classroom, luckily that doesn’t happen every day but when it does, it honestly makes the job a bit harder! While the teenagers can be challenging, most of the major obstacles come from the board members plus the people in charge; Receiving usual funding for supplies has regularly been a challenge for us as professors. Another challenge that the people I was with and I have been facing is getting A/Cs installed in our school building. Over the years, the classrooms have become extremely uncomfortable. And when you have teenagers who are complaining about being hot, there isn’t much studying happening. And I must say that I have gotten irritable due to the fact that our classroom has no A/C, but fortunately, the board did approve installing A/C inside the school, but due to the cost plus the size of the project, it will take about many years before it’s fully complete. The project will be done in phases. In the meantime, the people I was with and I have made some temporary adjustments to alleviate some of the heat while the people I was with and I were in the day. The two of us have rented some temporary trailers with A/C that the people I was with and I use for some of our classrooms. Though it’s not the most ideal arena to teach, at least the trailers have A/C.
