I have begun packing because I am traveling pretty soon.
Even though it is about 89 degrees outside everyday, and I am not going anywhere where it is cold, I still have to plan to bring a jacket with me.
Traveling means bringing a jacket everywhere you go. Just about everyone likes to try to carry as few items with them as possible when they travel, so it is quite annoying to have to bring a big jacket or sweater with you. There is no room for stuff like that in suitcases and airplanes charge you a lot of money for luggage these days. Anyway, I will be bringing my jacket because the last time I traveled anywhere, the air conditioner in the airport was blasting people right out of their seats. I don’t know why they set their thermostats so low, but there is no doubt that the AC units will be working their hearts out. In the various airports I will be in. Not only that, of course, I will be going out to eat. Again, most women need either a jacket or a sweater if they are going to a restaurant. For some unknown reason, restaurants love to keep the air conditioning quite chilly. I suppose it might be to accommodate the men who are there and suit and tie. That is, of course, at fancy restaurants. And in fact, I have noticed that the less expensive restaurants really don’t run the air conditioning quite as cold as the more expensive ones, so maybe that is the truth. Anyway in addition to airports, airplanes, and restaurants, we also have to deal with the air-conditioning at other places we go to like museums and movie theaters and other touristy places. All the tourist places will have their AC blasting. This is why every woman I know brings either a jacket or a sweater when she travels.
