Waiting for interview to start – sweating

There’s nothing more stressful than being an adult and finding out that you are losing your major source of income.

It’s an incredibly anxious time and it seems like nothing is going right in your life when you’re not sure where your next paycheck will come from.

When you’re looking for a new job, everything feels like a complete emergency. Every job posting, every application, and every job interview are a desperate opportunity to get back on your feet. Or, at least, that’s how it has been in my life. For the past two months I’ve been desperately searching for a brand new job after losing my boring office gig. It’s an extremely stressful period of my life. The other week, I was excited to receive an interview invitation at a local insurance company. Unfortunately, thanks to their terrible indoor air temperature control appliances, I’m pretty sure that I blew the opportunity. From the moment that I walked into the lobby of the building, I noticed that the air temperature was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like they had the heater turned up to a hundred degrees inside of the modern office building. I sat patiently and waited for my interviewer to be ready, but I was sweating through my shirt the entire time. It felt like there was hot air blowing directly on my face from every direction. When I looked around, I saw air vents everywhere. Unfortunately, they were streaming high-powered and extremely hot air directly from the furnace. By the time I was called into the interview, my hands were slick with sweat and there was a wet spot where I had been sitting in the waiting room. I guess I’ll just keep sweating through the job application process.
